Tom Pabin, President

Tom started College Finance & Planning, Inc. in Lexington in 1996.  Tom has worked with 71 high schools.  He currently conducts financial aid workshops with 23 high schools in Kentucky.  Tom is actively involved with his church's youth ministry program and his family of 2 boys, Matthew, Thomas and his wife Christie.

As the North American Franchise Coordinator, his goal is to have 100 franchises by 2020.

Sean Smith, Vice-President

Sean Smith joined the staff of Class 101 in March, 2000 and was soon promoted as manager of our second Lexington, KY office. Sean works with approximately 50 seniors and 50 underclassmen per year guiding them and their parents through the maze of college planning.

Sean, a resident of Lexington, KY for over 30 years, is a graduate of Lexington Catholic high school and attended both Eastern Kentucky University as well as University of Kentucky where he studied Real Estate and Business Management. His involvement in youth ministry fed his passion for working with young people but didn’t pay the bills so he turned his hobby into a career.

He is married to his lovely wife Ashley of 9 years and has twin boys, Kyle and Landon.

Chris Knowles, Manager, Louisville Office

Chris was a teacher in Louisville for six years.   Chris taught middle school for two years at Thomas Merton Academy before moving to Holy Cross High School in 2003.
Chris has been working with Class 101 College Finance and Planning since 2006 and became owner of the Louisville office in 2007.  Chris greatly enjoys the experience of helping students achieve their college and professional dreams.  Chris enjoys traveling to all parts of the world, and has a dream to travel to Greece to see the birth place of Democracy, Italy and Egypt to see the Great Pyramids.  Some of his travels include Mexico, Belize, Jamaica, and many other Caribbean Islands.  His favorite experience was visiting the pyramids of the great Mayan civilization in southern Mexico and Belize.

Shane Munson, Manager, Northern Kentucky Office

Shane Munson is a graduate from Georgetown College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  Before College, he attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kentucky. During that time, he became a client.  Class 101 helped raise his ACT score, get recruited for baseball, and get into the college of his choice at an affordable price for his parents.  Shane recently married in May 2009 and opened the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati office in June 2009.
